Wedding Photographers in Punjab: A City-by-City Guide (2026)

We are a wedding photography and film studio in Chandigarh, and we have been shooting weddings across Punjab since 2014 — in Ludhiana banquet halls, Jalandhar farmhouses, Amritsar gurdwaras and family homes in towns most photographers have never heard of.

This is not a ranked list of “top 10” studios. Lists like that are mostly paid placements, and they tell you nothing about whether a photographer will actually handle your wedding well. Instead, here is what a Punjab wedding really asks of a photographer, what we have learned city by city, and how to choose a team that can keep up.

What a Punjab wedding asks of a photographer

A Punjabi wedding is not one event. There is usually a roka or shagun, a mehendi, a jaggo or sangeet, the wedding day itself and a reception — and on the wedding day, things happen in several places at once. The bride is getting ready in one room, the baraat is gathering outside, and the families are meeting on the lawn.

One photographer cannot be in three places. That is why a full wedding with us is usually covered by three photographers and three cinematographers, and why we plan the team around your schedule rather than a fixed package. If two functions run at the same time, two teams work in parallel.

The other things that separate a good Punjab wedding photographer from an average one:

    • Knowing how to behave at an Anand Karaj. Heads covered, shoes off, no shooting from behind the Guru Granth Sahib, no flash during the laavan. The family should be watching the ceremony, not the photographer.
    • Handling a big baraat. Hundreds of people, a dhol, and the light going fast. Someone has to stay with the groom the whole time while someone else works the crowd from the front.
    • Night receptions on open lawns. Decor lighting looks lovely to the eye and gives a camera almost nothing. A team that does not bring its own lighting comes back with dark, grainy reception photos.
    • Long days. A milni at eight in the morning and a reception that ends after midnight. The team has to be as sharp at the end as at the start.

    City by city

    Mohali and Chandigarh

This is home. Our studio is in Sector 44, Chandigarh, and most Mohali venues are about twenty minutes away — so there is no travel charge, and we can see your venue before the date without making a production of it. We have shot at Grand Imperial, Arista Palace, Trellis Garden and The Amaltas Farms, and at Anand Karaj ceremonies in Mohali gurdwaras. More on our wedding photography in Mohali page, or see our work as a wedding photographer in Chandigarh.

    Ludhiana

Ludhiana weddings start early and finish late, and they are often the largest we shoot. We have worked at Bath Castle, Ambrosia Greens, Maharaja Grand and Sterling Resort, as well as at farmhouses and family homes across the city. Ludhiana is about two hours from our studio, so the team travels a day ahead and nobody arrives tired on the morning of the wedding. Details on our wedding photographer in Ludhiana page.

    Jalandhar

Candid wedding photography in Jalandhar by Cinestyle India

Big families and a lot happening at once. Jalandhar weddings rarely run to a single thread, which is exactly where a thin crew misses things. We have shot at The Heritage, The Cabbana Resort & Spa, Royal Kings Resort and The Grand Lily Resorts. Jalandhar is about two and a half hours away on the GT Road. See our wedding photographer in Jalandhar page.

    Amritsar

Anand Karaj photography in Amritsar by Cinestyle India

A lot of Amritsar weddings centre on the Anand Karaj, and a gurdwara is not a venue you can work the way you work a lawn. We have shot at Taj Swarna, The Chalet Resort, Grand Celebration Resort and Festyn Palais, and at gurdwaras and family homes across the city. Amritsar is about four hours from Chandigarh. More on our wedding photographer in Amritsar page.

Patiala and the rest of Punjab

Patiala is about an hour from our studio, and we also travel to smaller towns across Punjab, where the wedding is often at the family’s own home or farmhouse. Those are some of our favourite weddings to shoot. If your town is not on this page, tell us where it is; the answer is almost always yes.

Outside Punjab, we also cover weddings in Panchkula and Jammu, and destination weddings across India.

How travel works for an out-of-city wedding

For a wedding outside the Tricity, our team reaches a day before the first function. That day is used to see the venue in daylight, work out where the baraat will enter and where the light will be in the afternoon, and get some rest before an eighteen-hour day.

There is no separate travel charge for Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar or Patiala. Accommodation for the team is arranged by the family, which is the normal arrangement for any out-of-city wedding. For destination weddings outside Punjab, travel and stay are discussed and agreed before booking, never added later.

    What it costs

Our weddings run from around ₹1.5 lakh to ₹7 lakh. Where yours sits in that range depends on how many days and functions there are, how large a team the day needs, whether you want a printed album, and what you want in terms of films — a highlight, a full-length film, reels or a same-day edit.

We have written a full breakdown of what wedding photography costs, including what changes a quote and how to compare two studios fairly.

How to shortlist a photographer in Punjab

    • Ask to see a full wedding, not a highlights reel. Anyone can pick their best ten frames. A full gallery shows you what you will actually get.
    • Ask how many people will be shooting. And whether that changes if two functions overlap.
    • Ask what happens if a camera or a card fails. The answer should involve backup bodies and two copies of every file, made the same night.
    • Read the Google reviews, not just the testimonials on their website. Reviews you can’t edit are the honest ones.

We go into this in much more detail in how to choose a wedding photographer.

Questions we get from Punjab couples

Do you only shoot in Chandigarh?

No. Our studio is in Chandigarh, but a large share of our weddings are in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala and smaller towns across Punjab.

Do you shoot Anand Karaj ceremonies?

Yes, regularly. We work from the sides and the back of the darbar, in available light, with no flash during the laavan. You can see one on our Grand Imperial, Mohali wedding story.

Do you shoot photography and films together?

Yes. One team, one plan, so the photographers and cinematographers are not competing for the same moment. See our wedding films.

How far in advance should we book?

For peak season — November through February — three to six months is sensible. Popular dates go early. Off-season we can often work with less notice, so it is always worth asking.

    Can we meet before booking?

Yes, and we would prefer it. Come to the studio in Sector 44D, Chandigarh, or we can do a video call if you are further away. You will see full weddings start to finish.
